Matera is hometown to the famous “Sassi”. A maze of historic cave dwellings and churches etched into the Tufo rock surrounds of beautiful valleys.
The countryside that surrounds the town is great for many fun (and often stress-relieving) activities like trekking, biking, mountain biking, horse riding, and more.

Will I get the same room as on the photos?The room you will be assigned might differ slightly from the photos but will match the room type. You are booking a room/bed by type, not a specific unit.

Can I tour the property first?You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.
- If the property substantially differ from what is advertiser, you report it to us and we will help you find another place. -
My booking has been accepted, now what?Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

Can I cancel a booking?You may cancel with no fees until you have paid. Once you have paid for your booking, the Cancellation Policy needs to be followed.

What if I don’t know exactly how long I want to stay?You may book a shorter stay first and then extend once you know more about your needs.

What if the place is not as advertised?You have 24hrs to let us know if everything is okay. If you think you’ve been missold to, or the listing was significantly different to what you got, we’ll help you find somewhere else to live, or refund your money.

There is a fridge that you can use and a space to store your food and products.
For breakfast, there are plenty of cafes all around the neighbourhood. -

What are the laundry options?We have a washing machine and a dryer.
To use them, we usually ask for a little fee. -
Can I get picked up/dropped off at the airport?We usually don't have this service, but if you need some help, we can give you advices and contact to guide you during your travel.

Is there a kitchen where I can cook my own food?Yes, the kitchen is the soul of our house!
Every guest can use it to cook his/her own food and have a meal when they prefer, or we can coordinate to share a meal cooking together. We also organize a monthly community meal! -
Can I work in the communal area?Yes, for us, it is a pleasure to work alongside new friends.

Do I have to clean the room when I move out?No, the cleaning is included in the rent.

Are there any good restaurants nearby?Yes, Matera is full of restaurants where you can taste local products or eat Italian food. We can suggest some places if you have any particular requests!

What public transportation is available?Our coliving is near the bus stop.
Every 30 minutes, there is a bus that goes to the center and vice versa.
If you need to reach bari airport or the train station, you can take the little train named "Ferrovie Appulo Lucane" (there is a stop just 5 minutes from us) -
How far is it to the nearest airport?It is in Bari.
1 hour by car, 2 hour with public transport (bus or the little local train station " Ferrovie Appulo Lucane"). -
What is there to do in the area?Matera is one of the oldest cities in the world.
The city is surrounded by a canyon ideal for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, and more.
It is also only 30 minutes (by car) from the beautiful beaches of the Ionian coast.
15 minutes (by car or train) from Altamura. 1 hour (by car) from Itria Valley and the Lucanian Dolomites Park (where you can experience the Flight of the Angel).
There is a little cinema in the center, and a bigger one 15 minutes by car.
The city is full of cultural associations that organise a large number of activities, such as gaming, hikes, and yoga sessions.
We are part of great network of associations and we can connect you with many local communities linked to your passions.
